Life's A Gift | Daily Quote No. 222
One of the best quotes, lines, and dialogue from the movie 'Titanic'...
“I got everything I need right here with me. I got air in my lungs, a few blank sheets of paper. I mean, I love waking up in the morning not knowing what's gonna happen or, who I'm gonna meet, where I'm gonna wind up. Just the other night I was sleeping under a bridge and now here I am on the grandest ship in the world having champagne with you fine people. I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you... to make each day count.”
Jack Dawson, Titanic (1997)
Titanic is such an underrated movie, in the sense that most people only think about it as a romance. There were several very important themes running throughout the movie that it has become one of my favourites of all time.
This scene instantly caught my attention there is such a truth in the words spoken, and a poignant one too considering we know what is about to happen. You don’t know what hand you’re gonna get dealt next. We never think disaster is going to strike us, then it does. We spend our whole lives planning and delaying for tomorrow which never arrives. What we have is today: “Life’s a gift, make each day count.”
